Hi, I’m Shahidah. I grew up in a household exposed to domestic violence and terrorism. Following this, I hope to inspire societal changes through art. The first step I took to address these issues was to make films about them in Temasek Polytechnic.

Ever since I started studying in Glasgow School of Art (Singapore), I’ve realised that I want my work to relay those messages in a humorous and satirical way, even if it is raunchy or unorthodox. This is to lighten up the already sombre mood of these issues, and create a different approach.

With a strong belief that there can be many perceptions to life, I hope to bring that about via various artistic platforms, and get a few laughs while at it.
